Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Factory Controller, the Sr. Cost Analyst is responsible for supporting the maintenance of standard cost in SAP and the quantification of financial and operational analyses related to material spend, inventory levels and utilization, Conversion Costs and other relevant financial metrics. The Sr. Cost Analyst is responsible for assisting in supporting continuous ideation for cost improvement to deliver improved business results. This is a fully on-site position located at our Holbrook, NY factory location.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting the maintenance of accurate labor, overhead, yield and material costs at the SKU level (e.g., raw materials, packaging components, bulk, and finished goods
  • Provide analytics to evaluate variances to standard. Provide explanations to the key drivers along with recommendations to improve costs. Communicate cost risks and opportunities to leadership in Operations and the Business Units
  • Responsible for assisting in monitoring and driving continuous improvements in inventory costing, utilization, and inventory turns
  • Lead the development and research of plan/forecast/prior year comparison reports, provide variance explanations and insights to drive improved business performance
  • Assist in the development and analysis of the Annual Plan and Forecasts

  • Co-lead the annual standard cost update process. Drive continuous enhancements to optimize the process
  • Research, track and summarize data including metrics, trends, profitability, and expense analyses. Interpret data into actionable items and work with cross-functional partners to drive business results
  • Ad-hoc assignments and projects to support continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Accounting, or similar/ master's preferred
  • 3+ years' experience with cost accounting, finance experience in the Consumer-Packaged goods or related industry
  • Experience with SAP and Power BI
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite with strong Excel modeling skills

The approximate pay range for this position is $ 90,000- $ 105,000 base. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
