Job Overview

The Project Manager for DHS will plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects. The manager will also serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects planning all the stages and assess business implications for each phase.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects.
    * Lead and guide the work of technical staff.
    * Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.
    * Support the DHS team with creation of RFPs and Project Charters.
    * Work with DHS team to coordinate project kick-off meetings.
    * Work with DHS team to ensure all project information, expectations and documentation is accurate and in agreement with the customer's PO.
    * Create all projects plans for T-DOC, Tegris and Torin implementations in designated Area.
    * Collaborate with SWIC Project Managers on capital projects that include SW, IC and DHS products.
    * Serve as the primary after-sale customer contact during implementation, and the conduit for project details, assignments and scheduling with internal/external stakeholders.
    * Manage DHS Implementation Specialists, Sales and Account Managers, and other designated Area stakeholders to complete each project according to the agreed upon plan including team assignments, shift changes, and decisions made during Go Live.
    * Assign project tasks, establish timelines, set milestones, schedule travel and acquire customer sign-offs for all aspects of the project.
    * Work with DHS Manager to maintain the master project schedule.
    * Maintain project budgets, submit invoice requests as needed and track invoice payments.
    * Confirm software and hardware orders associated with the project are received and implemented correctly.
    * Manage the change control process during all phases of the project, including informing customers of any time or cost overruns and coordinate plan to either accept and pay for overruns or revise projects to get back on-time and on-budget.
    * Manage all project communication including weekly project status meetings with the customer, internal project review meetings, email, Teamwork assignments, ect.
    * Prepare weekly status reports for each active project. Coordinate the Project Close task for each project, including final sign-off, lessons learned, and archiving.
    * Ensure required project related files are stored and updated per DHS team policy.
    * Collaborate with DHS team before and after
    * Project Close to ensure the highest level of customer service is provided to customers.
    * Report on KPIs as established and agreed upon with DHS Director.
    * Assist with continuous improvement initiatives that will improve DHS Operations strengths and identify areas to increase efficiencies.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus 2 years of experience in project management or related.
  • Any suitable combination of experience of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
  • Must have a valid passport for international travel purposes.
  • Must travel as required to customer sites (from 50 to 70%)

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Requires skills and experience in the following:
    * Deep understanding of project and program management principles, as well as change management practices;
    * Excellent skills using the following Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint Strong knowledge of common desktop, server, and database operating systems as well as foundational understanding of networks and distributed applications;
    * Strong knowledge of personal computer hardware and software, desktop computing systems, firewalls, security, VPN networks, and client server technology;
    * Ability to manage multiple projects in common project management tools including Teamwork, and Microsoft Project;
    * Good understanding of US and global medical compliance laws, workflow requirements and decontamination processes;
    * Excellent understanding of decontamination workflows across global markets and implementation of traceability solutions including T-DOC; and
    * Network configuration and communication, subnet, DNS, IP address -advanced understanding skillset.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
